Friends allows children to access the Newsfeed, Leaderboard and Secret Files.
To access Friends, children just need to log in to Doodle, click/tap on the menu arrow in the top left-hand corner of the Learning Zone and select Friends.
Newsfeed
From the Newsfeed, children can view a chronological list of their achievements in Doodle. These include:
Completing exercises
Achieving a new high score in a game
Reaching their weekly target (being in the green zone)
Achievements made by siblings will appear if they’re also registered under the same parent email address, while achievements of classmates will appear if a child has a school subscription and their teacher has turned on the newsfeed for their class.
Children can ‘like’ their friends’ achievements by pressing on the thumbs up icon to the right of their achievements.
Children can view the number of ‘likes’ they’ve received next to their accomplishments in the Newsfeed, but can’t view how many their peers have received.
Leaderboards
From here, children can view the number of stars they've earned over the last week and their current streak.
Their siblings and classmates' progress will also appear here if they’re also registered under the same parent email address, while achievements of classmates will appear if a child has a school subscription and their teacher has turned on the newsfeed for their class.
Secret Files
From here, children can view their records, such as the total number of stars they've earned and their longest streak, and an image of their robot in DoodleMath.
Editing Friends Settings
The Friends settings will always be active for parents, but events from siblings will only appear if they’ve been added under the same parent email address.
Teachers can turn on/off the Newsfeed, Leaderboards or Secret Files for the pupils in their class by following the steps below:
Log in to the Educators Dashboard
Hover over Manage and select Students
Tick the box next the name of the students whose Friends settings you wish to edit
From the Action menu that appears above
Turn the Newsfeed, Leaderboards or Secret Files toggle on/off
Select Update
